The Influence of the Suction Nozzle of the Small Pick and Place Machine on the Placement Rate

The suction nozzle of a small pick and place machine is an important factor affecting the placement rate of the small pick and place machine. The causes include internal and external ones. 1. The internal reason why the suction nozzle of the small pick and place machine affects the placement rate

First of all, the vacuum negative pressure of the small pick and place machine is insufficient. The mechanical valve on the placement head is automatically switched before the suction nozzle picks up the components and the blowing is converted to vacuum adsorption, which generates a certain negative pressure. When the components are sucked and the detection value of the negative pressure transducer is within the specified range, the machine is normal, while back suction means the machine is bad.

Generally, the negative pressure from the pick-up position to the suction nozzle at the placement position should be at least more than 400mm Hg. When the small pick and place machine is used for large components, the negative pressure should be more than 70mmHg. Therefore, the filter in the vacuum pump should be cleaned regularly so as to ensure sufficient negative pressure; at the same time, check the working status of the negative pressure detection transducer regularly.

Secondly, the filter on the placement head of the small pick and place machine and the filter on the suction nozzle are blackened due to contamination and clogging which are cause by the surrounding environment or the air source that is not clean.

Therefore, the filter should be replaced regularly. Generally, the filter on the suction nozzle should be replaced at least once every half a month, and the filter on the placement head should be replaced at least once every half a year to ensure unobstructed air flow.

2. The external reasons that the suction nozzle of the small pick and place machine affects the placement rate

Pressure relief of the air source circuit of the small pick and place machine, such as the aging and rupture of the rubber air pipe, the aging and wear of seals, and wear of the suction nozzle after long-term use. What's more, due to the adhesive or dust in the external environment, especially the large amount of waste crumbs generated after cutting the components of the paper tape packaging, the suction nozzle is blocked. Therefore, the cleanliness of the suction nozzle should be checked daily.

Monitor the pick-up situation of the suction nozzle at any time, and clean or replace the clogged suction nozzles or those with a poor performance in pick-up in time to ensure a good working condition. At the same time, when installing the suction nozzle on the small pick and place machine, ensure that it is installed correctly and firmly. Otherwise it will cause damage to the suction nozzle or machine.
